Hopefully this post alone will help Los Angelenos but if not, here’s a helpful link:

I pinned your comment to the top here so people see it! This is a good resource for those of us who aren't familiar with the area.

What a wonderful read. It was definitely meant to be that you found that cookbook. Do I believe in god now?

Oh my gosh! Frozen pizza as the pastry topping for a casserole is a genius move. I might actually try that.

The SLOB Sisters look a little like the Delicious Dish ladies on SNL from the 90s.

The SLOB sisters! They had a very brief but hard run thru the zeitgeist back then. Just when I got wind of them they faded back into the woodwork and I couldn’t even find anything about them (it was pre-internet after all). Great find clown!! 🤡

I'm pretty fascinated now. My mom was always working too hard to even get to watch TV, so we never knew about these ladies during their heyday. Thank you, thrift store!

I was trying to remember them/the times last night as I fell asleep (thanks Dennis 🥺)

One of my closest girlfriends then, she didn’t work a conventional 9-5 job and she taped an episode of Oprah they were on that I watched when I visited her and I fell in loooove (I have a touch of OCD so makes sense)but it must’ve been closer to 1990 because we didn’t have home computers yet. I think I may have caught them on Letterman once, too. Now you’ve awakened a beast in me (shame since now I’m too old and broken to ‘organize’ anything beyond a sock drawer) and I won’t rest until I remember EVERYTHING. 🤭🤡

My father, newly divorced, made this for us so many times in the 90s - back when the pizzas were still round. I had an intense craving for it today and was trying to recall the ingredients from memory with my siblings. Thank you for posting!! Truly doing the most.

Awww!!! Well, if you recreate it, let me know if it is exactly what you'd wanted. I only made it once for this piece but I can still smell and taste it in my head.

I finally got around to making it and it immediately transported me to that very weird time in my life but in the best way possible. Mine also turned out very soupy and I'm curious if my dad altered it any to combat that.

Thanks again for putting this on the internet!

Honestly I think it's the moisture coming out from the chicken. Maybe chickens were different back in the day? I'm glad I could take you back down memory lane in a good way!!!

Amazing and hilarious. I'm always so pleasantly surprised when stuff like this actually ends up tasty. I suppose that's why they were able to get on Oprah.

Life hack? Maybe. It’s like should I sneak this to the grandkids before I debut it to my husband?

It probably says something about me that I immediately thought "wait, a *round* dish?" when reading the recipe, well before you started reenacting the "square hole" video.
